"Video Games!"

I'm flipping through PC Gamer magazine my brother had bought so he could get a shield in everquest. Then at the back I see a link for gameskins.com and they sell shirts. I load up the page and find the coolest shirt, the Atari "Roots" shirt. I'd seen a old NES Roots t-shirt but hadn't seen an Atari one. That's where it all began for me, and maybe the curse/blessing started.

I remember very well back in the winter of 1980 getting an Atari 2600. And I'll start by saying I hated pac-man. I never had pac-man fever at all I found the game to corny. Nevertheless we played that game and the crumy game you got with the Atari "Combat" all through the night. From there I was hooked, and maybe it was some secret conspiracy that my parents had going to get me to do stuff so I could earn allowance to buy me a new game.

I clearly know that if video games and consoles were never invinted I would cleary be making 50-60,000 a year. On the other hand I know for sure I would also be divorced with kids and real a-hole to be around.

I know I stayed up late playing to many video games, lied to my parents that my homework was done just to get on the machine. Monsters had to die and the world needed to be saved!

But hey, thirty years later I did get this really cool t-shirt!
